Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Circles, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.

These terms apply to all users, whether you use Circles anonymously (without an account) or as an authenticated user (with an account).

Description of Service

Circles is a platform for coordinating events with friends and groups. The service allows you to:

• Create and manage events
• Invite others to participate in events
• Coordinate plans through interactive action cards
• Communicate with other event participants
• Vote, share ideas, and collaborate on event details

User Accounts and Sessions

Anonymous Use

You may use Circles without creating an account. When using anonymously:

• You must provide a name to identify yourself to other participants
• A session cookie will be stored in your browser to maintain your identity
• You are responsible for maintaining access to your events through event links
• We cannot recover access if you lose your event links

Account Registration

If you create an account:

• You must provide accurate and complete information
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

Paid Plans and Billing

Circles offers an optional Pro subscription with additional features. Subscriptions are billed in advance and renew automatically unless canceled.

• You can cancel at any time; Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period
• Pricing and features may change in the future with reasonable notice
• Taxes may apply based on your location

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card details on our servers.

Refunds

Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable. Annual subscriptions are eligible for a refund within 7 days of purchase.

If you believe you were charged in error, contact support and we will help resolve it.

Acceptable Use

When using Circles, you agree to:

• Use the service only for lawful purposes
• Respect other users and communicate respectfully
• Not impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
• Not use the service to harass, abuse, or harm others
• Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' data
• Not upload or share content that is illegal, offensive, or infringes on others' rights
• Not use automated tools to access or scrape the service
• Not interfere with or disrupt the service's operation

User Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit to Circles (messages, event details, votes, etc.). By submitting content, you grant us:

• A license to use, store, and display your content as necessary to provide the service
• The right to share your content with other participants in events you join

You are responsible for your content and must ensure you have all necessary rights to share it.

Event Privacy and Sharing

Events on Circles are private and accessible only through:

• Direct invite links shared by event creators or participants
• Your events list (if you're a participant)

When you share an event invite link, anyone with that link can join the event and view its contents. You are responsible for managing who has access to your event links.

Intellectual Property

The Circles service, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from Circles without our permission.

Service Availability

We strive to keep Circles available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues. We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from service interruptions.

Termination

We reserve the right to:

• Suspend or terminate your access to Circles if you violate these terms
• Remove content that violates these terms or is otherwise objectionable
• Modify or discontinue the service at any time

You may stop using Circles at any time. If you have an account, you may delete it through your account settings.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Circles is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, secure, or meet your requirements. Use of the service is at your own risk.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Circles, including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of Circles, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of others.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Circles will be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of appropriate jurisdiction.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of Circles after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
